Standing tall over the Athens City is the ancient Acropolis of Athens. This is the landmark of many significant historical structures such as the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena, and the Erechtheion. It was announced to become one in the list of European Cultural Heritage monuments on March 26th, 2007.
The Acropolis of Athens holds a lot of important tales of Greek civilization and myths through the artistic creation. Historically, during the 15th century B.C. initiated the initiation of constructing the Royal Palaces of the Great Kings, and around 161 A.D. marked the building of Odeon under the order or Herod Atticus. The total area of this magnificent structure is around 3 hectares as it erects in the valley of Ilissos.
Another structure which holds popularity in the Acropolis is the Temple of Athena Polias, constructed around 570 to 550 B.C. This temple contains a number of relics, among which are Hekatompedon and H-Architecture.
